Unit 1: In the Beginning
Week 6. The Sea Opens
God is bigger than our biggest problem.
Memory verse
Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD
Exodus 14:13 (KJV, excerpt)
Read together
Read the Bible passage: Exodus 13 and 14.
Picture story: Moses and the Sea
The picture story is written for ages 3 to 8. Older children can enjoy it too, or read the Bible passage in their own Bible.
Talk about it
- What is the biggest “sea” in front of you right now?
- How do you handle fear: run, freeze, or ask for help?
Do it
Share one fear with someone you trust and ask them to pray for you.
Pray
God, I give you what I am afraid of. Help me to take the next step.
For the leader
Let the children act it out with a blue cloth for the sea.
You will need: A long blue cloth or towel.
