A year of Sundays

Fifty-two short lessons for families, homeschool groups and Sunday schools. One lesson a week for each age: a Bible passage, a memory verse, two questions, an activity and a prayer.

How it works

Pick an age group, then start at week 1 (or at any week). Each lesson takes about half an hour, and you can do it in less.

Every lesson has the same shape, so you can use the lessons with a mixed group: the story and verse are the same, and each age gets its own questions, activity and prayer.

Memory verses are from the King James Version. Picture stories are retold in simple words (paraphrases). Nothing is saved on your device by this section, so you can use it as a plain printed plan.

A simple half-hour plan

  1. Welcome (5 minutes). Greet each child by name. Say last week’s verse together.
  2. Story (8 minutes). Read the Bible passage or the picture story aloud.
  3. Talk (7 minutes). Ask the two questions. There are no wrong answers.
  4. Do (7 minutes). Do the activity together.
  5. Pray (3 minutes). Pray the prayer, or let the children pray in their own words.

Reordering

The weeks follow the Bible’s story from the beginning to the first Christians. If you want to teach Christmas or Easter at the right time, move weeks 27 to 29 (Christmas) and week 44 (Easter) to the right weeks and carry on from where you left off.

Each age has a printable leader guide: a page for every week, with the memory verse, the questions, the activity, the prayer and space for notes, plus a session plan. A note on safety

Wherever you teach children, follow your church’s or organisation’s safeguarding policy, and never leave a child alone with one adult. Little Way collects nothing about the children you teach.
