Teen reflections

Five short pages for ages 13 to 17, about identity, worth, friendship, phones and rest. Written to be read on your own, in about five minutes each. No lecture, no quiz, and nothing to sign up for.

Each has one verse from the King James Version, a few honest thoughts, some questions to sit with and one small thing to try. Read them in any order, skip any, or come back later.

  1. 1Who am I?Identity: who you are when nobody is rating you.
  2. 2Do I matter?Worth: why your value is not something you have to earn.
  3. 3Real friendsFriendship: being a good friend, and finding good ones.
  4. 4Phones and attentionPhones: noticing what your screen is doing to your attention and mood.
  5. 5Permission to restRest: why stopping is not laziness.

For parents: these pages are written to the teenager directly, and they never ask for names or messages. You might leave this link where they can find it, and ask later only if they want to talk. See the parent guide.

If things feel too heavy: you do not have to carry it alone. Tell a parent, a teacher, a pastor or another adult you trust. If you are in immediate physical danger, have a medical emergency or are being hurt, call 911 (US) or your local emergency number. If you are in an emotional crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Outside the US? Find a free, confidential helpline at findahelpline.com. These pages are not a substitute for professional or pastoral care.
