Daniel and the Lions

Bible passage: Daniel 6 · Ages 3 to 5 · Old Testament

Paraphrase Daniel was a good man who loved God. Every day he stopped to pray.

Paraphrase The king liked Daniel very much. But some men did not like him, and they made a trick.

Paraphrase Daniel was put in a cave with hungry lions. He was not afraid, because he trusted God.

Paraphrase God sent an angel. The lions stayed quiet, and Daniel was not hurt.

Paraphrase In the morning the king hurried to the cave. Daniel, are you safe? he called.

Paraphrase Daniel said, God kept me safe! The king was very glad, and he told everyone about God.

From the Bible (King James Version)

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me

Daniel 6:22 (KJV, excerpt)

Let us wonder

When do you pray? Who do you pray for?

One small thing to do

Say a short thank-you prayer before you go to sleep.
