God Made Everything

Bible passage: Genesis 1 · Ages 3 to 5 · Old Testament

Paraphrase Once, there was only quiet and dark. Then God spoke, and light came shining in.

Paraphrase God made the big sky above and the wide sea below. The water went swish, swish, swish.

Paraphrase God made dry land, and green things grew. Trees and grass and flowers filled the hills.

Paraphrase God made the bright sun for the day, and the moon and the stars for the night.

Paraphrase God filled the sea with fish and the sky with birds. Splash! Flap! Tweet!

Paraphrase God made animals of every kind, big and small. Then God made people, to look after the world and to be loved.

From the Bible (King James Version)

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

Genesis 1:31 (KJV, excerpt)
