Making a mini-book
Read together
You can make a book. A book has a cover and pages.
Your book will tell your story.
Do it
- Fold two or three sheets of paper in half and staple or tie the fold.
- Let your child draw a picture on each page about their day.
- Ask them to tell you the story and write their words under each picture.
- Add a title and their name as author. Read it together at bedtime.
Talk about it
- What is on this page?
- What will you call your book?
For the grown-up
Making a book teaches that stories have a start, a middle and an end, and that our words can be written down.
